for the vacation owner to bequeath their vacation ownership
entitlement without having to make a will and testimony
in the country in which the resort is situated.
It also simplified the administration process involved
in selling or transferring their vacation ownership
to a third party, or when upgrading to a larger product
within the same project.
The Trustee scheme is considerably more cost effective
for the consumer than under an official registered shared
ownership or title-deeded system.
(Under the deeded system referred to above, it is
necessary for the consumer to be present before the
notary in the country where the resort is situated (or
appoint an attorney to represent him) and therefore
will have to pay a much higher fee to the notary than
the administration fee charged by the Trustee).
